Bose 700UC headset for Microsoft Teams

Are you also moving around with 2 different headphones (1 for music and 1 for Microsoft Teams) as I do?

I’m using the Sony WH1000-XM3 and the Plantronics Voyager Focus.

Sony WH1000-XM3

The Sony WH1000-XM3 is being used to create my own “bubble” with personalized music. IMHO I think that these have the best ANC at the moment. I was in doubt which one to choose between the Sony WH1000-XM3 and the Bose NC700 (or QC35ii), as these 2 are top of the line in ANC headphones. I made my decision because the Sony’s where #1 in ANC and it has an usb-c charger port. This last one is nice; in 15 min I have 3 hours of juice in my headphones to listen to music! On the other hand, the downside, is that I can only pair 1 Bluetooth device with the headset.

Plantronics Voyager Focus

The Plantronics Voyager Focus is being used for my calls/meetings as the headset is certified and the microphones are filtering all surrounding sounds. This means that the people where I’m in the call with don’t have to deal with all the sounds around me. I’m using this headset now for over 4 years and it’s still my primary UC headset on the go (not at home).

I also have the Plantronics 8200 because I thought it could replace all the headsets as it has the ANC feature, but personally I can’t hear the difference when ANC is on or off.

The 8200 is now the primary headphones when working from home 😀

The change is coming, with Bose 700UC!

It looks like my current setup, of carrying 2 headphones, is finally going to change!

In the latest update overview on Microsoft Teams, it was announced that Bose will soon release a Microsoft Teams certified headset, the Bose 700 UC!

As far as I can see, it’s the same as the NC700, but with a Bose USB Link Bluetooth® module to have a dedicated connection between the headset and the computer.

Can’t wait to try them out and compare them with my other headphones and see if it could replace my current “2-headphone” kit 😀

The Bose Noise Cancellation 700 UC (NC700) will be Teams certified and available for purchase later this Spring.

So, what do you think? Are also, just like me, carrying 2 headphones to have the best of the best? Is the new Bose 700 UC something for you as well?

I can’t tell yet how the sound quality is (when listening to music, but also the mic in the meetings). Hope I can tell you soon when I tested it out, not sure yet when this will be.

For now,
Thanks for reading!
